A Busy Day Out…

Jindi here…

Early this morning the human and I set off up the highway to Bendigo to met my cousin Millie the Customs Labrador and Laila the Fox Terrier with their humans so we could all play at the RSPCA Million Paws Walk.  The sun was shining, it was a lovely day and we got to walk around Lake Weerona with lots of other dogs, twice…

The human also caught up with someone she hadn’t seen in a very very long time.  We were sitting at a picnic table waiting for the day to start and a lady sat on the other side of the table…well, that lady turned out to be L who is V’s mum and the human and V went to high school together and V was there too because she works for the RSPCA in Bendigo!  So they got to have a little catch up but then I wanted very much to go and play in the practice agility activity…

…it was so much fun and later while we were waiting in the line for the nice Vet Doctor to check my teeth (I need to chew some bones to help keep them clean – yum!) we heard our names being called…seriously? our names? why?…so off we go to see why they are calling for us and guess what…I am so clever that I won the agility activity!…and we didn’t even know it was a competition!!!!

Best time….20 seconds!…so I get a present…yay for me!!!

We all went to a cafe so the humans could have coffee and I was so good and lay down by the human’s chair and minded my manners…I was a bit tired when we got home and had to have a long snooze, it was a big day out…catch ya later!

A Sunday Stroll…

So Sunday the Human tells me we are going to Bendigo to play Million Paws Walk…wahooo!…I was very excited…we set off in Larry nice and early…the walk was to be held at Lake Weeroona.  The Human bought me a lovely new coat but in order to wear it I had to endure this!

There was a very nice lady with a trailer which I was keen to investigate and it turned out to be a BATH!  I think maybe next time I won’t be so keen to look inside!  The Human said I was stinky so the nice lady made me smell pretty again so I could wear my new coat.  Then we walked around the lake – twice…very pleasant.

My cousin Miss Millie, the blonde labrador who works for Customs, couldn’t come and play this year as she has been very clever and made some puppies so she is a bit busy looking after them but she sent her Human along anyway…but my friend Lila the jack russell came along again…she is so very little and she was a bit frightened to start with but after a while she realised that everyone was friendly so she trotted along with me and we had a lovely walk.  The Humans behaved themselves quite well, we let them have a reward afterwards and kept them company while they had coffee at a cafe called Beechworth Bakery in town.

I do enjoy the Million Paws Walk and it raises money for the RSPCA so it is a good cause and helps out the puppies who are waiting for new Humans.  I hope we get to play along next year and Miss Millie can come to play again too.

12 Paws Went Walking…

…around the Castlemaine Botanic Gardens…

We set off early today and went for a ride for in the car to Castlemaine to play at the RSPCA Million Paws Walk along with my cousin Millie (blonde labrador) and her friend Lila (Jack Russell x Fox Terrier).  Lila is very little and she was a bit scared at first of all the bigger dogs.  Me and Millie were SO excited.  So many humans gave us pats and loves.  We looked pretty special in our blue Million Paws Walk gear.  Lila is so little that the blue coats were all too big for her but she looked pretty spiffy in her red number to match her harness.  We were all dressed up and we had somewhere to go…wahoo!  We walked around the gardens Twice and had a lovely time.  I was admired by So Many humans – they sure had good sense when it came to recognising quality – ha ha ha.  I was a very good girl and played very nicely with all the other dogs.  I sure did like meeting everyone.

Then we went into town and played Cafe Society while the humans had lunch…they sat at an outside table so we didn’t have to wait in the cars and we got to be admired again.  My human gave Millie and me an apple each…yummy, we both like apples a lot.

We went for another walk then around the shops and I got to chat with some other doggies while their humans admired me (I do like being admired) and chatted to my human.

Now I’m really really tired after my Big Day Out so I think it is time for me to curl up in my bed box and have a bit of a snooze.

Love, Jindi
