Just for Auntie Rosie…

So, I’m dressed and ready…where are we going?…

What do you mean you’re going to work and I’m staying home…mmph!…

A Sunday Stroll…

So Sunday the Human tells me we are going to Bendigo to play Million Paws Walk…wahooo!…I was very excited…we set off in Larry nice and early…the walk was to be held at Lake Weeroona.  The Human bought me a lovely new coat but in order to wear it I had to endure this!

There was a very nice lady with a trailer which I was keen to investigate and it turned out to be a BATH!  I think maybe next time I won’t be so keen to look inside!  The Human said I was stinky so the nice lady made me smell pretty again so I could wear my new coat.  Then we walked around the lake – twice…very pleasant.

My cousin Miss Millie, the blonde labrador who works for Customs, couldn’t come and play this year as she has been very clever and made some puppies so she is a bit busy looking after them but she sent her Human along anyway…but my friend Lila the jack russell came along again…she is so very little and she was a bit frightened to start with but after a while she realised that everyone was friendly so she trotted along with me and we had a lovely walk.  The Humans behaved themselves quite well, we let them have a reward afterwards and kept them company while they had coffee at a cafe called Beechworth Bakery in town.

I do enjoy the Million Paws Walk and it raises money for the RSPCA so it is a good cause and helps out the puppies who are waiting for new Humans.  I hope we get to play along next year and Miss Millie can come to play again too.

What Jindi Did Next…

Sunday, after our big trip on Saturday, we spent the day in Mildura…it was a catch-up with people day, the purpose of our trip…

As the human and I were both a bit tired from all those kilometres on Saturday we started the day slooowly and didn’t rush about seeing this and that…instead we took a ride down the road to Red Cliff and spent a lazy hour wandering around the market stalls in the park and the main street…I was suitably admired by the stall holder when the human was buying some dried apricots and a nice lady walking past stopped and gave me lots of pats…I do so like it when humans do that…

Then it was off to Irymple for a BBQ lunch…the human was going to make me wait in the car but the humans who live at that house said I could play in their yard and I had a wonderful time…I said hello to the dog that lives there but he was staying at his kennel and…

…I played totem tennis and catch with the girl humans…

There were so many hoppers (immature locusts) that the ground looked like it was moving…

See all those “brown dots”…they are all hoppers and that is just a teeny tiny selection of their population…and they sure do a whole lot of damage…

…the yard was all green grass until a couple of days before the hoppers moved in and ate and ate and ate and now it is brown and dead wherever they have had lunch!…

After the bbq the human went to have coffee with a quilty friend and I waited in the car…again!…then we went to visit some more humans and I got to play with the big boy blonde labrador that lives at that house…I got to play with lots of different dogs and little humans…there was another Kelpie staying at the caravan park where we stayed and I go to say hello and play a little bit with her too…she was just like me except her tummy was a bit rounder and closer to the ground than mine…but she was a very nice Kelpie…

I was very good at the caravn park and I slept on my bean bag on the verandah…

Monday we had to come straight back down the highway as the human had to go to work in the afternoon…she says it was a Very Long Commute to Work…

So now we are back home again and our little holiday of lots and lots of kilometres is done but maybe Larry will take me and the human up the highway again and we can visit Mildura again…that Murray River looked like it would be a nice place to spend some time…I would like to go for a nice loooonnnggg walk at the river…

On The Road Again…

I got to ride in the car yesterday…A Lot!…I got to wait in the car yesterday too…A Lot!…I’m not so keen on the waiting bit but I do love the riding bit…

First stop a place in…

With GF Rosie who I like a lot – she bought me 2 smackos treats – yum yum – and when we got there Mistea was there too! The humans all went inside a building and did whatever it is that humans do (boring…yawn!) while I waited outside in Larry…there was A Lot of Waiting…but Larry had found a nice cool parking space under trees.

The human came out to give me a drink and let me have a little walk around and while we were doing that the famous Jodie arrived and gave me pats…I do like it when I get lots of attention from the humans…

After A Long Time everyone came out of the building again and then we went for another ride…this one was A Very Long Ride until we got to a place in…

For those who don’t live in Victoria (why not?) or even Australia (again, why not?)…this is how far it was…

605 kms…yes, it certainly would have been more direct to go from home to Mildura but apparently there was something going on in that building that the human just had to go to so we went the Long Way Around…humans, they are a strange species!

Don’t know what we are doing today but I’m sure it will involve more riding in Larry, maybe today the human will remember to use her camera so I have proper photos to show you..it’s hard being a Kelpie sometimes *sigh*…

Jindi’s Play Date…

Jindi here…yesterday I got to go for a ride in Larry (one of my very favourite things).  The human took me over to her cousin’s house so I could play with my cousin Miss Millie – yay! I LOVE visiting Auntie B and cousin Millie…Millie has a tummy full of puppies but she is still able to play.

We got to go for a walk and Auntie B gave us treats, a doggie biscuit, an apple (my favourite) and I even got to have a piece of toast! Millie had stuff put on her toast but the human said I could only have it plain, oh well, it was still yummy…Millie and I helped Auntie B make the toast…

Jindi & Millie Make Toast

We were very helpful…she couldn’t have done it without us…

Millie was being very funny and she decided it would be a good idea to stand her back legs on Auntie B on the couch and her front legs on my human in the armchair and lick my human all over…she has a great sense of humour my cousin…I wasn’t allowed on the furniture ‘coz that is our rule but I was OK with that…it’s Millie’s house she has different rules…

The is SO Much Water falling out of the sky today and the wind is blowing so hard that I’m staying curled up on my inside bed…the human says that the weather is too awful to anything else so she is going to have to sew…she doesn’t seem very upset about that…

Hope you get to stay inside today and keep dry…and I sure am glad we don’t live across the ditch in NZ…a place called Christchurch on their south island started shaking this morning and the buildings fell down…I don’t think that would be fun at all…I’m glad we only have rain and wind.

Woofs, licks and tail wags…
