Shameless Cross-Promotion…

Well, sort of…

I had a plan and it was a good plan…back at the beginning of February DF Ms K and I ordered a bolt of muslin to use for a Karen Cunningham quilt…we needed close enough to half a bolt each and the extra certainly wouldn’t go to waste.  When the A Gardener’s Journal Stitch-A-Long came into being I had a light bulb moment for the “extra” muslin…the stitchery backgrounds! Good plan hey? But the fabric distributor gods had other ideas and went and chucked a spanner in and before I even started…ground to a halt!

Enquiries before Easter to check on delivery progress revealed the distributor had advised late April!!!  Late April!  Do they not know that I needed it yesterday?  And that is for the container to arrive at the wharf not the shop to take delivery!!  Yikes!!!

Emergency email discussions were held…trip to Melbourne was undertaken to Ms K’s kitchen for coffee and swatch card consulting…decision made (not easy for two Librans!) and order immediately placed for replacement…it is closer…hopefully the revised fabric purchase plan will come to fruition and the parcel will arrive this week.

While consulting the A Gardener’s Journal book this morning for floss organisation and non-background fabric cutting purposes – I gotta do Something, have you checked the group blog?…the stitch-a-longers are sewing up a storm…I noticed “the potting shed” stitchery doesn’t have it’s own project so here’s one I made earlier…

A couple of years ago at sewing group’s retreat we made these old fashioned boxes and I used “The Potting Shed’ as my stitchery of choice.

It’s doing that water falling from sky thing here today (yay!), a perfect day for sewing room occupation.

Hope your day includes lots of stitchy time…

Happy sewing…
