Winter comes…

It is officially the first day of Winter and in celebration it is raining… Again! … Yay!!!

I managed to spend the morning at sewing group and even got started on something that needs to be done before the Big Trip…

It’s not the world’s best photo but it is going to be a platypus.  The aboriginal inspired design is from the book “Australian Animal Patchwork Collection” by Julie McKenzie for Materials Possessions Patchwork & Quilting.  I bought the book a couple of years back from a stall at the Loch Quilt Hanging in Gippsland.   I had two varigated threads, one a Threadworx and this one which is an Anchor.  I started with the Treadworx but it just wasn’t the right colour, too light, so I puled it out.  This one felt right as soon as I started using it.  It shouldn’t take too long to get done as it is only in backstitch with a few knots.

Enjoy your day, I’m off to do that work thing again now.

Happy Sewing.
